10 Years of Showing Up

Floris Gierman is known for a lot in the running world—his podcast (The Extramilest Show), his thoughtful approach to low heart rate training, and his role in co-founding PATH Projects. But in this video, he steps back to reflect not as a coach or a brand voice, but simply as someone who’s been doing meaningful work—quietly and consistently—for over a decade.

This isn’t a highlight reel or a technical breakdown. It’s a real look at what it takes to stay committed. Floris shares his earliest efforts—uncomfortable interviews, nervous starts—and what happened when he chose to keep showing up. Along the way, he tells the story of how the work slowly started to matter. How it began reaching people. Changing them. Helping them run differently. Live differently.

I’m one of those people. His content shaped a lot of my early thinking—about pace, about patience, about what this sport is really about. And even now, as my own journey has evolved, his work still reminds me that progress comes from presence—not perfection.
