Bayshore, Held Lightly

Eric Floberg

I ran Bayshore this year. It was a quiet, overcast morning—the kind that feels like a clean slate. I PR’d. Somewhere on the course, I saw Eric Floberg, pacing friends, not racing his own time, but still very much part of the effort.

This film captures that kind of presence. The filming isn’t cinematic in the polished sense—it’s handheld, stitched together mid-stride, pulled from fatigue and conversation and whatever energy’s left. But that’s why it works. Eric has a way of keeping the camera rolling without pulling you out of the moment. You feel the buildup, the middle miles, the dropoff, the stubbornness it takes to finish when the body starts pushing back.

There’s honesty in it. Not just from the runners, but from behind the lens too.
