Through Fruita, Into Focus

I live on Colorado’s Front Range and drive through Fruita often on the way to the Western Slope visiting clients for work. I’ve passed that stretch of high desert more times than I can count—but I’ve never seen it quite like this.

In this field-report–style film, Jeff Pelletier follows Audrée Lafrenière as she runs the 2025 Desert Rats 100K. She finishes 13th female, just under 14 hours. The film doesn’t force anything—it just stays with her. The landscape. The effort. The quiet resolve.

Jeff’s filmmaking has a way of letting the race speak for itself. He’s a runner, too, which probably explains it. He doesn’t oversell the moment—he lets it breathe. And somehow, without trying to impress you, he shows you exactly what matters.
