Tiger Mountain, On Repeat

Speedland

I started listening to Death Cab for Cutie in college. Plans was on repeat during long walks across campus—back when I didn’t run and didn’t think much about discipline, terrain, or how a record could stay with you long after the moment passed.

Years later, I found myself deep into trail running—and once again, Ben Gibbard showed up. Only this time, not on a stage. On a trail. In a film. In a shoe.

This short film from Speedland highlights the GS:TMT, a trail shoe named after Gibbard’s regular training ground: Tiger Mountain Trail outside Seattle. It’s a signature collaboration, but it doesn’t feel like merch. Gibbard has run Western States, suffered through heat and hallucinations, and stayed committed to the craft—of music, of miles, of showing up.

The GS:TMT isn’t a celebrity product—it’s a map of where he’s been. Built with intention, and made to move.
